Wine Country Cooking Classes


Enjoy a dream day in Napa Valley with a hands-on cooking class with me in a lovingly restored Victorian mansion. The Ackerman Heritage House in downtown Napa is our magnificent setting, with period furnishings but modern conveniences, including a spacious state-of-the-art kitchen. I’m a Chez Panisse-trained chef and author of Fresh from the Farmers’ Market, Eating Local and more than two dozen other cookbooks. My cooking is casual, strictly seasonal and ingredient driven, inspired by California’s endless bounty. With my guidance and instruction, you’ll break into teams and prepare a four-course menu, with a light snack provided as you work. Then you’ll sit down and enjoy your handmade feast. Every guest receives an apron and a folder of the day’s recipes. 

A hands-on cooking class provides a rewarding and educational team-building exercise. Or gather friends and family to celebrate a birthday or a reunion and experience an unforgettable day in Wine Country. A private cooking class in one of Napa Valley’s showplace homes will be the highlight of your Wine Country visit.

Guests’ dietary restrictions will be noted at the time of booking and I’ll make every effort to accommodate them. It may not be possible to accommodate dietary restrictions that are not mentioned at the time of booking. The classes are not suitable for vegans.
